BodyMedia Summertime

Summer is just about coming to a close with back to school upon us. In addition to backyard BBQ’s and beach vacations – for most of the country – summer has also been a great time for outdoor exercise. Summer is a great time for me because my kids are out of school, and we take full advantage of the extra daylight. We’ve been doing all sorts of things, exploring Pittsburgh as new residents. Throughout the summer, we’ve been to the zoo, aquarium, museums, and of course, taken advantage of the great bike trails and cooled off from the 90+ degrees heat in the local pools. Even though I am not exactly engaging in an intense cardiovascular activity, I’ve been surprised about the amount of calories I burned during all of these summer activities. And, we’ve still been unpacking from our move here nearly a year ago, which also burns a lot of calories!
